Building Resilience

This week’s ‘Gospel according to,’ is all about how sport and exercise can help us to build our resilience.

Exercise and sport in general provides us with an outlet, an outlet to forget about the daily grind, to clear our minds of negative thoughts, to relax and enjoy time to ourselves or with like minded people. But one thing we tend to forget is, sport/exercise can help to build our resilience.

So what do we mean by resilience and how does sport/exercise help us in this way?

Building resilience mentally is essential for successful triathlon training because the sport demands a high level of physical and mental endurance. Triathlon training requires consistent effort over an extended period of time, often involving long hours of training, setbacks, and competing against oneself.

Sport helps us as individuals to develop not only physically but also mentally, it helps us to spring back from adversity, to recover quickly from difficult situations, and to allow us to come back stronger.

Let’s take a look at some of the top tips to building resilience.

So as you can see from our short list, sport/exercise can help us build our resilience to become better athletes, better people, better friends, and more.
